We've all been to a basic fancy dress party, right? Well, in the world of celeb the annual Met Gala (hosted in New York's prestigious Metropolitan Museum of Art, of course!) this is the one night where you can go all out, in accordance to the theme of course. In previous years we've seen the theme dedicated to technology and a Chinese theme (just think Rihanna's iconic oriental oversized cloak for this), but this year the theme was 'Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and The Catholic Imagination' - and we think this might be our fave theme yet.
Without fail, there is always one celeb who wins that Cinderella moment. It's usually RiRi, Kim Kardashian or Beyonce, but this year, the princess moment goes to Blake Lively. Oh RiRi. We can always rely on Rihanna to make a serious style statement at the Met Gala. Here she is wowing us in a Pope-inspired crystallised and heavily embellished three piece.
Another pop star slaying the religious theme is Ariana Grande. The singer stepped out in a printed Vera Wang gown and oversized hair bow, cause cute factor right? The print was from Michelangelo Last Judgement painting from the Sistine Chapel in Italy.

Taking inspiration from a painted glass church windows, superglam and effortlessly beautiful Gigi Hadid stunned in this gorgeous Versace dress.
Devil in disguise Nicki Minaj showed us how to look good when being bad. Wearing a sinister devil-like red ombre gown and accessories, we're going to be sure not to get on the wrong side of Nicki.

Sarah Jessica Parker
Last but not least, Sex and the City star Sarah Jessica Bradshaw never fails to make us raise our eyebrows with her Met Gala looks. Here she is wearing a golden Dolce & Gabbana gown and matching head piece.
